THE 101ST ANNUAL STOCKHOLDERS MEETING OF THE GARDEN CITY CO-OP, INC.
On March 2nd at 2PM, the Board held their Annual Meeting and had their Board elections at the West Pavilion of the Finney County Fairgrounds. We had 75 members registered. There were three Board seats open with five candidates running. The Board Members elected were Clayton Maddux, Max Engler, and Joanna Schmeeckle. We want to thank Bill Maughlin for his many years of service on our Board of Directors. Bill has been involved with the Garden City Co-op Board either as an Associate Director or Director since the Dighton Merger in 2005. We also gave the members attending opportunities to ask the Board any questions about their Coop and there were none presented. We held a raffle drawing to award five early redemptions of stock. The winners were: Mike Deaver, Gerald Danler, Janet Hands, Steve Parr, and Corinne Herndon.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF THE ANNUAL COMMON STOCKHOLDERS MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Annual Meeting of the Common Stockholders of The Garden City Co-op, Inc. will be held Tuesday, March 9th, at 2 o’clock p.m. at the WEST PAVILION of the FINNEY COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS located at 409 Lake Ave., Garden City, Kansas. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. The purpose of the Annual Meeting will be a condensed version of former annual meetings, gathering to hold official board member elections, as well as approve 2019’s annual meeting minutes, discuss new and old business as well as answer any questions and such other matters as may properly come before the membership.
As management, we are sad to have to change our traditional annual meeting format this year due to the COVID Pandemic. We do enjoy getting everyone together to celebrate each fiscal year for your Co-op. Our reports of officers and management as well as financial statements and employee recognition were given at the end of the year via letter and available on our website.
Three director positions are open this year. The nominating committee has put forward the names of Bill Maughlin, Clayton Maddux, Max Engler, Chris Boyd and Joanna Schmeeckle to run for these three positions.
This is an important meeting, and the Board of Directors encourages your attendance and participation. We look forward to celebrating, and in doing so, we will hold a drawing for 5 awards of early redemption up to $1,000 in Co-op stock.
PLEASE NOTE: Per Garden City ordinance, a six-foot minimum social distance will be observed, and face masks will be required. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided.
